Tuition Benefits

Your education doesn't have to stop while working. At the University of Rochester, our employees may be eligible for special tuition discounts or benefits on University of Rochester courses they take as non-matriculated students. Please note: University of Rochester employee tuition benefits are not available to use for auditing classes.

Course registration process

Employees who are choosing to take courses as a non-matriculated student should register for courses using the instructions found on the registration page.

Tuition waiver enrollment process

Once you have successfully registered for a course, please complete the following steps to determine your eligibility and apply for a tuition waiver.

  1. Confirm your eligibility for the tuition waiver benefit.
Eligible employees include those with at least 1 year of full-time service or 2 years of part-time service. If you are unsure of your eligibility, contact the Office of Total Rewards at tuitionbenefits@ur.bomabearing.com.
  2. Complete the online Employee Tuition Waiver application.
Log into HRMS Self Service > Benefits > Tuition > Apply Employee Tuition Waiver. Please contact tuitionbenefits@ur.bomabearing.com for questions or concerns with your application.

Following submission of your application, approved tuition waivers will be processed by the Bursar's Office (tuition waiver percentage is based on employee's annual salary). If you believe your application was processed, but the waiver is not reflected on your student account and would like to know your balance due, please contact the Bursar's Office at bursar@admin.bomabearing.com.

University of Rochester employee tuition benefits are contingent upon your successful completion of the course and continuation of eligibility for tuition benefits, based on employment status with the University. If these criteria are not met, you will be responsible for payment of the course and any related fees. Additionally, your approved tuition benefit waiver is only for the courses listed. Any change in courses listed (add, drop, or withdrawal) will result in you being responsible for payment of the course and any related fees.

Additional tuition discounts

University employees who are also alumni and/or senior citizens may be eligible to combine the discounts listed here and their tuition benefits to pay for non-matriculated courses, as long as all benefits combined do not exceed their total tuition cost.

Office of Total Rewards

The Office of Total Rewards administers all employee tuition benefits at the University of Rochester. If you have questions about the process above or would like additional information, please contact Total Rewards at totalrewards@bomabearing.com.
